Blaq Diamond Part Ways With Record Label

Blaq Diamond Part Ways With Record Label: South African music artists Ndumiso Mdletshe and Sphelele Dunywa, popularly known by their stage name Blaq Diamond, reveal that they have parted ways with Ambitiouz Entertainment.

In a sitdown with Mac G, the duo stated that they had outgrown the label as their visions for the Blaq Diamond brand no longer align. They went on to state that though they’re grateful to the label for bringing them to this point, it was time they took different paths and push their brand in further places within SA and beyond.

Sphelele said; “It was between sticking with the label or choosing growth. We wanted growth more than anything because we wanted to tap into the African market. There was a clear disconnect between our vision and theirs. It is no longer aligned. It was nice working with them. We just want to go shoot to the other side”.

Ambitiouz Entertainment is widely known for having issues with its signees, which eventually leads to both parties ending things on a bitter note. But Blaq Diamond claim to have ended things peacefully with the label. “We always made sure we had lawyers around. Even with us leaving Ambitiouz, we had to get lawyers to clear everything up“; they said.

They went on to promote the newly released music video of their hit single titled “Ilanga“.
